The StealthSuit Ghillie Set is a Lightweight Ghillie Suit and is not to be mistaken for the StealthSuit Paintball Ghillie Set. The StealthSuit is made up of a jacket and pants combo set, rifle wrap and a detachable hood with face veil.  The suit is available in two patterns; woodland (all season) and desert and comes in three sizes (M/L or XL/XXL).

Jacket and Pants

This complete Ghillie Suit Set won’t slow you down. It is designed to completely camouflage your back, torso, and legs for an upright stalk. The StealthSuit Ghillie Set is manufactured from ultra light-weight, synthetic burlap material.

The jacket is easy to put on, even though it doesn’t a zipper. Both the pants and the jacket have drawstrings to adjust for comfort and accessibility. This means you can easily wear the Stealth Suit over a clothes and not feel too hot.

Color Patterns

This ghillie suit comes in two color patterns – woodland (all season) and desert. We tried our best to capture the color patterns, using various lighting techniques in our pictures. You may find that the woodland varies with different ghillie suits, with this ghillie suit, it is distictively woodland, with strong greens and splashes of tan, black and olive. The mossy is almost desert with tans olive colors mixed with black. All the mixed colors makes for a really nice mossy!

Rating

The StealthSuit Ghillie Set is a great ghillie suit for Paintball, Airsoft and Hunting. It does a lot when its priced at the lower end of similarly high quality ghillie suits as this one. While its not the most comfortable one like the Special Ops Sniper/Paintball/Hunter Ghillie Suit with its inner No-See-Um material for the inside lining and has the sofetest mesh material you can find in a ghillie suit, its still a great ghillie suit!

When they say the suit is ultra-light, they aren’t kidding. I happened across the box early in the morning as I walked home from class. My first thought after bringing it into my house was “My god, I’ve been had, its empty.” Quite the contrary, upon opening I found it was packed full of ghillie goodness and it took a lot of fluffing to bring it to full size. The material is tied on the same way most of us attach jute to the netting (and netting is all it is, there is no underlying fabric) and there is tonnes of it. It’s like putting on a pullover and being that there is no fabric beneath the net, one would likely want to wear BDUs beneath (not like my jeans and t-shirt in the pictures, the good news is that you don’t have to ruin them by gooing the net on to them, so new BDU’s are A-OK.

This jacket set up is excellent. The top is much like hoodie and the bottom is like a poncho; nearly down to my ankles but it has slits along the leg so that I can move with great ease. Running is entirely possible in this full length body jacket though vaulting a fallen tree is inadvisable as the net may snag and you may have a face full of hurt afterwards. Let’s take a look at some distinct pros and cons now.

Pros

Very Durable, at least it would seem this way, I pulled at the netting in many places and nothing pulled apart or snapped and the wrenching motion of my hands is more punishment than this ghillie will likely take. Very high quality net, I wish I could find some to home make a ghillie or two.

I’m a big guy and got the Medium-Large version (it also comes in XLs) this fits very well, the hood covers my head easily, the arms go down to my wrist and when my arms are extended they don’t ride up to the elbow like some tight clothes do. The bottom of the jacket does end half to a full foot above my legs but this seems to be advantageous, I hate crawling and find sometimes when spotted in paintball or airsoft I need to take flight. Getting up quick from a prone position is never much fun) This design allows me to do so easily without getting material tangled in my feet. It’s also very spacious in the body section.

Plenty of color variation. Lots of greens, browns, and hints of blacks and grays. Any problems with the color could easily be rectified by localised dyeing or misting with a spray can 2 to 3 feet away to alter the hue.

Cons

No material. As nice and light as it is, it would be nice to have some kind of cloth material on it, especially for the upper body. The netting is tough like a chain link fence but its coarse and not pleasant to the skin. Bear arms beware.

Could use some more ghillie, I find it’s a little bit thin in some places but anyone wearing BDU’s would find it looks like a bush, not the case when you have a white T and jeans on beneath so it’s not something you can just throw on and have at it with, you will need something dark on beneath or you can un tie material and reattach in other places as you see fit.

THE NECK and this what annoyed me the most and by most I mean not much since I love this suit: The suit is in need of some kind of neck cinch to bring it up around the chin rather than down by the chest, I have this whole section of white there now and am in no mood to wear a balaclava in the summer. I do stoop when I’m stalking about in the woods so perhaps this will disguise the issue.

Keep in mind that he took off some material from the front and put it on the back and attached some to give his paintball mask to get the bearded ghillie look. The box he will show you is the same as the box I received.

His looks nicer in my opinion, maybe because all the front material is on back, and he added some leaves. I’ll do this again sometime and throw up another review, I also have “the art of camouflage” by bushrag in the mail. If only I could share it somehow.

The Ghillie Flage Suit is a complete ready to wear Ghillie Suit. Its a one piece ghillie suit almost like a poncho, where you put it on from the bottom. It is made from 1″ inch netting and natural jute is tied onto it – so it is fairly heavy.

Use

Being a one piece ghillie suit, maneuvering in it become very difficult. Essentially, being a long jacket and on top of that being fairly heavy from the natural jute, hiking, or even walking becomes an enormous feat. The length of the suit, as it drops to your toes, makes fro crawling and crocuhing difficult. The netting design on this suit makes for wearing it very uncomfortable, which is why you can’t go bear bones or wear just a t-shirt when having this suit on. You will need to wear thick BDU’s or a sweater. Wearing a sweater or heavy clothing, only increases the heat level. Nonetheless, because of its heavy foilage and natural jute, the Ghillie Flage Suit offers the best camouflage in a Ghillie Suit.

Sizes

The ghille flage comes in two sizes, M/L and XL/XXL.  The M/L is suitable for people who are 6′0′ or under and the XL/XXL is suitable for anyone taller than 6 ft.  For people are shorther than 6 feet but are a little heavier, the XL/XXL will be for you.

Rating

When deciding to purchase the Ghillie Flage Suit, it really comes down to preference – do you want a 1 piece vs 2 piece ghillie suit? Then you would have to ask yourself do you want synthetic or natural jute. If you prefer a 1 piece and a ghillie suit made from natural jute, then the Ghillie Flage Suit is for you.

Many retailers advertise this suit as being sold by Bushrag, but it is actually made by StealthSuit. The kids ghillie suit is comprised of 4 pieces, which consists of a ghillie hood, ghillie jacket, ghillie pants and a ghillie rifle wrap.  Additionally, many will advertise this suit as “One Size Fits All”, when in actually it does not. The Kids Ghillie Suit comes in 3 sizes and 2 patterns.

Color Patterns

This ghillie suit comes in two color patterns – woodland (all season) and mossy. The pattern woodland varies with different ghillie suits, with this ghillie suit, the green is very green, while the mossy pattern, consists of  black, tan and olive colors, where when compared to the Bushrag, which its pattern consists of greens and blacks. Nonetheless, the mossy color is different, but different isn’t bad. Its works very well.

Rating

Of all the different ghillie suits you can get, this one goes the farthest for you buck. It is extremely comfortable to wear, and light weight.  The only other ghillie suit that is comparable would be the Ultralight Ghillie Suit from Bushrag. But I would have to choose this suit over the Bushrag for the belt loops and its super comfortable softness which makes this suit far superior than the other one.
